It’s official, as far as fashion is concerned, the ‘70s are back in full-swing. This means suede, fringing and flares will be a part of your wardrobe very soon. But the key piece that you need to get your hands on ASAP are a pair of over the knee boots – read on to find out how I style mine!
It’s all too easy to over-do it and look like you’re heading to a fancy dress party when trying to channel a certain era, but a good pair of knee or over the knee boots do a great job at giving a subtle nod to the ‘60s & ‘70s.
If you’re brave enough to go barelegged in December, pairing your over the knee boots with a printed mini and a jumper is a fun way to try out the trend. Of course, a floppy hat is a must!
If you’d prefer to keep your tights on (brrr!), your knee boots will look just as impressive. I paired mine with a tapestry-inspired A-line skirt and a polo neck, and of course, a wide-brimmed fedora to finish the look.
Keeping the rest of the outfit black and drawing attention to the patterned skirt means you won’t be feeling self-conscious about wearing boots that can often be seen as sexy – this is a great way to dress them down.
Or perhaps make your coat the statement piece, with a little skin showing from underneath. If you’re like me, you’ll be counting down the days until it’s warm enough to get your pins out again – boots like this are a wonderful compromise!
