Even though we technically have a few more weeks of Summer left, I thought I’d look back on some of my favourite bits I’ve been wearing. Is it only me who associates memories with certain pieces? I’ve bought into some of the main trends (hello 70s) as well a few bits with the quirky elements I’m always drawn to, take a look!
The Gingham Trousers
I can’t resist a slightly retro print and these gingham trousers have been my staple for whenever the weather’s being a little indecisive. They’ve got a bit of a Sandy from Grease vibe, though I’ve been keeping things pretty casual with some statement trainers. Mixing the two prints works surprisingly well!
The 70s Boho Top
OK so this may have appeared in my wardrobe around a week ago but I’ve already worn it a few times with jeans and miniskirts to get the cost-per-wear down. My favourite thing about this trend is all of the handcrafted details like tassels, ties and lace. Try these tan sandals as a subtle way of referencing the decade.
The Dinosaur Jumpsuit
I’ve been hunting for the perfect jumpsuit for what seems like aeons now, so was pleased to finally come across this dinosaur adorned number. It’s seriously comfy, just throw on with trainers and a backpack and you’re good to go.
The Spotty Co-ord
How amazing is this monochrome co-ord? It’s the perfect way of appearing put together with minimal effort, plus the red sandals offer a fun pop of colour. Try these for a similar kind of vibe.
The Tropical Dress
After accidentally picking this dress up in a sample sale, it became my default holiday piece. Just look at the palm trees! It looks great with anything metallic plus a cute cross-body bag.
The Button Up Skirt
This is definitely the item to invest in for the Autumn season. I’ve been wearing mine with ankle boots and strappy sandals for the time being, but can’t wait to wrap up with a faux fur coat when the weather turns. Is it bad that I’m starting to miss all of my coats?
Predictions for AW15? I can see myself wearing lots of cosy polo necks, suede and definitely some thigh-high boots!
