I can’t be the only one with a slightly out of control shoe situation? I seem to go through phases of liking certain kinds and buying them in bulk. First came the brogues, then the wooden heels and now I’m trying to control an addiction to colourful trainers. Help. I thought I’d share six days of shoe selfies, primarily to stop me from wearing the same pairs all the time and to show you what I get up to in sunny London.
Day 1
I’d almost forgotten about these chunky heels until I popped them on the other day, they’re seriously comfortable. They’re a great update on the gladiator style and a casual way of adding a bit of extra height.
Day 2
OK I may have a slight thing about cut-away shoes, I seem to buy a new pair every year since they’re a nostalgic nod towards what I used to wear as a child. I wore them with a tropical palm-print dress to remind me of my holiday in Jamaica a little while ago. Take me back!
Day 3
Another day, another gladiator style. These are more of an ankle boot, perfect for days when you want that kind of look but it’s too hot to keep your feet hidden. I teamed them with a loose boho dress for a visit to the V&A, which was probably the most inspiring morning I’ve had in a while. Try and see the Alexander McQueen exhibition before it finishes!
Day 4
As much as I love complicated straps and buckles, you can’t beat a pair of metallic sliders. I wore mine with an oversized dress, denim jacket and sunnies and was ready within minutes for an Audrey Hepburn exhibition visit. Sorted.
Day 5
A last minute ticket to Wireless meant that a practical festival outfit was needed (luckily I had some tips to hand from my post a little while ago). After seeing plenty of dusty feet on those wearing sandals, I was glad I went for my Nike trainers. My feet didn’t hurt and they’re pretty much unscathed!
Day 6
Even though the weather was its usual indecisive self, I still braved these wooden, criss-cross heels in the rain. They’re a little bit retro and have somehow managed to stay pristine white, despite me wearing them all over London. I spotted this amazing table at a cool venue in West London, such an Instagram opportunity!
