Just picked up some Christmas gifts from Deichmann? I’m going to show you how to jazz up your shoebox before putting it under the tree this Christmas!
If you want to hint at just how fashionable your gift is, this fun collared design is the one for you! It takes no time at all, but has a huge impact and will ensure your pressie stands out.
You’ll need…
Brown parcel paper
A selection of ribbons
Small buttons or bells
Scissors
Tape
Double Sided Tape
Glue
Start off by wrapping up your shoebox in brown parcel paper. Parcel paper is the perfect base for craft Christmas wrapping, and what’s better is that you can find it cheaply in your local post office.
Next up, take your longest bit of ribbon and attach it to the top of your box lengthways by using a strip of double-sided tape. Bring your ribbon all the way round until it meets, then cut and add another strip of double-sided tape and attach in place.
Cut a piece of brown parcel paper that is the same size as the top of your box. Now you need to concertina fold your piece of paper, before folding it in half. This will make the collar. I decided that my collar would have rounded edges, so I cut the ends accordingly.
Now dot three blobs of glue along the top of your box. Leave to dry slightly before affixing the collar to the box.
To jazz up the collar, take another ribbon, thinner in width, and tie into a bow. Attach the bow with glue under the collar.
To finish off, add three or four blobs of glue along the ribbon at the front, spaced equally. When tacky, add your buttons or bells.
And that’s it! Your chic shoebox is complete and ready for it’s new owner!
